I think it depends on how you paid the debt to begin with ie. did you put it on credit cards or what? You should speak to a bankruptcy attorney. Many of them have a free consultation, and they can probably answer you questions better than anyone here. At least better than anyone on this health site. You might repost this question under law.

I’m not sure, but since you have this problem every day you should really be having appointments with a psychologist. you could also ask the psychologist about your debt problem. You could always take up a hobby to replace gambling with.
