Has the GOP, the conservatives, leapfrogged over liberals and become the more radical?

amazed we’ve survived this l

political Party? Actions like Iraq, threatening Iran, Illegal wire tapping, Patriot act, signing statements, appointing radical judges, election fraud to insure their continued control, tax reduction in the face of deficit spending, running up huge additions to the national debt, trying to spread democracy to other countries, radical disregard for health care issues, water and air pollution, climate change/global warming, approaching energy issues that will greatly change our way of life and need planning for……..

You are a left wing Liberal Democrat. Most of what you are talking about here is totally regarding the Democrats. You have your two political parties mixed up,

Seemed as though you had a good question until the fraud and disregard issues started to seep in. Was looking forward to answering until it began to look like another conspirator at work.

My favorite liberal group is the one that wants to impose controls to prevent women from having children if THEY percieve it’s bad for the planet.

It doesn’t get much more radical than that.

Actually both parties have their radicals but most people are toward the center. Unfortunately at this time the radical right seems to be in control of the Republican party. The radicals do seem to dominate.

Notice the similarities between the radical Republicans and what you see in this article:

I understand your point. The Republican Party as it is constituted today has many different “wings” if you will. There are fiscal conservatives who do not really focus on the moral issues very much. The fiscal conservatives care about things like a sound economy and a balanced budget (these people have been very disappointed lately). It also contains Law & Order types. Before 9/11 this is the type most attracted to Rudy Giuliani. Then there are the so-called Religious Right who go ballistic at the idea of two men holding hands or being wished a “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” at their local department store. These people are mostly made up of Salafi Christians with a few Orthodox and Hasidic Jewish people thrown in to make them look somewhat tolerant.

Many of the more sane Republicans are trying to shed their party of the anchor weight that is the Religious Right. Two of the organizations within the Republican Party fighting the hardest against the Religous Right are the Log Cabin Republicans and the Republican Liberty Caucus. I was once a Republican and it is largely the influence of the Religious Right over the O.G.P. (Once Grand Party) that caused me to leave.

I do differ with you on the global warming issue though, that is an issue that, despite what Al Gore may claim, is not settled. Do not believe me, just do some research on your own and I believe you may be surprised how many reputable scientists do not think that global warming is caused by humans. Something to think about, global warming is happening on Mars in a simmiler way it is happening here on Earth. Could it be the Sun has something to do with Global Warming? Again, do not take my word for it. Look it up on your own and with an open mind.

Absolutely that have. The Cons/Reps have lost ALL credibility. Their followers are dropping like flies. The ones that still support the GOP are so radical that they only hurt their cause. Don’t believe me. See what Dead Marxist, RLP, Wolf, Ruth, Penelope, etc… have done for the Rep cause here. Look what Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and the Bush Administration have done to the Republican party - They’ve turned it into the laughing stock of the country.

I would be embarrassed to have anything to do with the Republican party.

In the old days it was easy to pick out the ultra left wing wackos, they tied themselves to trees for weeks at a time and spiked them so loggers would get hurt…and I used to feel that Right wingers were OK, just that they let their religious beliefs come into their voting a bit too much….now it’s getting so you have to choose sides…In my case, I have to admit that it’s better to join the extreme left (for a time, at least until the present crisis is over) and choose to reject the dogma that will change our way of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness proposed by the Right…If the Right thinks it can amend the laws and the freedoms of Americans, they will soon find out that this will weaken the union…maybe they don’t really care…it is becoming more and more black and white, the shades of gray are disappearing…be careful about what you wish for.
